Unveiling the Mysteries of Tapir Valley’s Night Hike
A few months ago, Bart and Karin went on a trip to Rio Celeste, Costa Rica, looking for adventure and a connection with nature. They didn’t expect the best part of their journey to happen in Tapir Valley. This amazing valley has a lot of history and used to be a place for raising cattle for many years. Then, a local family made a big change. They saw the cool animals and special environment around their farm and decided to turn it into a natural reserve. They wanted to take care of the animals there, especially the rare tapirs.
Tapir Valley’s Nocturnal Wonderland: The Jungle Night Tour
They had a great time on the Jungle Night Tour during their visit. As the sun went down, the valley got dark and filled with nighttime animals, making it a really enjoyable experience. Bart and Karin, along with a nature guide, went into the rainforest at sunset for this unforgettable adventure.
The tour took them through open fields, a wet area, and deep into the forest, where they heard all sorts of night sounds. The guide showed them bugs, frogs, and mammals thriving under the moon. The croaking of frogs near the wet area added a neat soundtrack to their adventure.
As their eyes adjusted to the dark, Bart and Karin were amazed at how they could spot even the smallest creatures in the forest. From frogs and snakes to sleeping birds and kinkajous, the night uncovered a different side of Tapir Valley’s lively nature. Even though spotting the rare Baird’s tapir is tough, knowing these big nighttime animals were around added to the excitement.
