  • Admire Condors soaring above Colca Canyon before traveling to Titicaca.

Located in the southwest of Peru, Arequipa is known as the White City due to its beautifully preserved historical center filled with colonial architecture. Combining European and native characteristics into a unique style the city of Arequipa is one of the most charming cities to explore in Peru. Ask any Peruvian which city is the capital of food and you’ll be surprised to hear them not say Lima but Arequipa instead! You’ll have the fortunate task of eating your way through its huge menu of local dishes that will leave you more than satisfied. One of the main reasons people travel to Arequipa is down to its proximity to the Colca Canyon; home of the majestic and mighty Andean Condor. A colorful Andean valley with pre-Inca roots, the Colca Canyon has a number of small villages filled with local traditions and culture and are some of the most well-preserved in the country. Twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States, the landscapes surrounding the Colca Canyon are simply breathtaking! During your stay in Puno you’ll visit Taquile Island, where Inca laws and social systems are still practiced and where you’ll meet some of the skilled local weavers.
