• Starting January 4, 2021, all travelers arriving to Peru must quarantine for 14 days at their home, in the Pan American Village or other temporary isolation center, or in a lodging, after coordination with Peruvian health authorities. For travelers whose final destination in Peru is other than Lima capital, they are allowed to continue traveling and comply with the mandatory quarantine at their final destinations.

  • Beaches in Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash department, Metropolitan Lima, and Callao province are closed except for no-contact socially-distanced individual water sports such as surfing, windsurfing, and rowing.

  • The purchase of the first lot of vaccines against COVID-19 has been finalized, within the framework of an agreement with Sinopharm. In total, there will be 38 million doses, the first lot (of 1 million) will be delivered at the end of January 2021. With these vaccines, it is planned to immunize between 14 to 15 million Peruvians before winter.

  • The suspension of flights that connect Peru with Europe and with a duration of more than eight hours (which was initially ordered on December 21, 2020), has been extended until January 20, 2021. This measure aims to reduce the risks of contagion due to the possible entry into Peruvian territory of people infected with the new variant of Covid-19, discovered in the United Kingdom.
