- Despite the fact that infections continue to increase in Colombia, many nationals took advantage of the December season to go on vacation inside and outside the country.
- The bus terminals continue operating, although the buses are still operating at 30% – 50% capacity. Airports remain open and airlines are slowly returning to operate all the frequencies and routes that they had before the pandemic. Biosafety protocols have not changed, the most important being the use of facemask all the time, social distancing, constant hand washing and use of antibacterial gel.
- Once again, the government imposed the PCR test with a negative result as a requirement to enter Colombia. The test must be taken a maximum of 96 hours before the flight, and must be applied to infants, children and adults. In any case, passengers with fever or respiratory symptoms associated with covid-19 and those who have not previously filled out the Check-Mig application will not be allowed to board.
- In Bogota from January 5th to January 18th, 3 localities entered quarantine and a curfew between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. due to the increase of cases presented. During this time all non-essential businesses and gyms will be closed, restaurants will only be able to sell food to deliver and only one person from the family will be able to go out to stock up on groceries. So far, the mayoress of Bogota have not made any further announcements if there will be new quarantines in other localities. Likewise, other mayors have not made quarantine announcements in other cities of the country.
