Cañas Guanacaste – Hotel Rio Perdido

Rio Perdido is a sustainable hotel that offers nature, wellness and adventure. Located just a 45-minute drive from Liberia (with its second international airport in Costa Rica), this hotel boasts 18 km of on-site hiking as well as mountain biking trails and a thermal river with hot-spring pools. Guest can enjoy the natural pools, spa treatments, a great restaurant and fun activities like zip-lining and tubing in a relaxed natural and -away from it all – environment.

Nosara – Guanacaste, The Harmony Hotel

Inspired by old school tropical destinations of eras that appreciated low key glamour and total escape, The Harmony Hotel opened in 2004. From the beginning, it has been a passion project for the owners—a couple who met surfing in Nosara—and all those involved in creating the lush, sustainable property where guests now mingle with hummingbirds and howler monkeys. Situated a stone’s throw from a pristine surf break with consistent year-round waves on Playa Guiones, the Harmony is ideal for a surfing adventure and yoga. But it is much more than that. It is a place for community and ideas—an ideal space for contemplation and deep relaxation.

Alajuela (road to Arenal) – La Tigra rainforest Lodge

La Tigra Rainforest Lodge is located just a couple of miles outside of the tiny typical town of La Tigra, San Carlos, and about a 50 drive from the popular destinations of the Arenal Volcano and the town of La Fortuna. The Lodge consists of 10 tent cabins on raised platforms immersed in the magnificent tropical rainforest on the outskirts of the renowned Children’s Eternal Rainforest, the largest private reserve in Central America. Much more than simple lodging services, the lodge offers authentic well being in an environmental conservation area, where each guest is invited to embrace the importance of conservation.

Osa, Drake Bay – Copa de Arbol Lodge

Copa De Arbol Beach and Rainforest Resort is a luxury beachfront eco-resort set among 70 acres of pristine rainforest reserve, perfectly situated between Drake Bay and the Corcovado National Park. This area of the Osa Peninsula, known to be home to 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity and one of the last remaining tropical-humid rainforests on the planet, is accessible by boat only and is one of the most remote and untouched places on Costa Rica’s entire Pacific coastline. The luxurious bungalows, sit near the ocean, immersed in the rainforest. Endless small coves and beaches, fresh-water lagoons, and miles of hiking trails that wind through the rainforest make this the perfect spot to simply relax all day or embark on an eco-adventure experience second to none.

Nicoya, Palo Verde – Rancho Humo

This charming eco-boutique estancia has grown from the owner’s original lovely Hacienda House, extending into new wings with ample comfortable rooms that are designed and decorated to recall the surrounding nature sanctuary and also the ‘sabaneros’ (local cowboy) traditions and authentic lifestyle of a typical Guanacaste hacienda. The hotel is located in a privileged setting bordering the Palo Verde National Park in the important wetlands and mangroves of the expansive Tempisque River delta. The lodge offers several tours in the wetlands and 3 gourmet style meals a day.
